What types of marking equipment are there? Areas of use

Labeling various types of goods, finished products, raw materials and any things that require accounting is a daily activity to ensure maximum order in work processes. This allows you to find and identify any unit without any problems among the mass of other similar specimens. But the marking itself does not appear on its own. Such identifiers are created using special technologies and special equipment. So, what types of marking equipment are there? In what areas of work is marking used? We will try to find answers to these and other questions below in this review.

What types of marking equipment are there equipment? Areas of use

Marking and application of information

Marking is the process of applying certain symbols, codes, logos or text on products, packaging or other surfaces. It is an important step in industrial processes and warehouse activities that ensures the identification, traceability and security of goods. For example, in large warehouses of supermarkets or construction depots, it will simply be impossible to identify any unit or group of goods without information identifiers. Without them, there would simply be chaos, complete blockage and downtime, which would have a catastrophic effect on overall activity.

Marking equipment

For effective marking, a variety of equipment is used, from laser markers to simple thermal printers. Any field of application requires an individual approach using practical and standard knowledge and skills.

What types of marking equipment are there?

This question is actually quite broad. However, we will look at the main types. Here are some of them.

  • Laser markers:

A laser marker is a device that uses a laser beam to apply text, codes, logos or other information to various surfaces. It provides clear and reliable marking, which is useful in industrial processes, for example for product identification or safety control. In simple words, it’s like a “writer” for things, but with the help of a laser!

Carbon dioxide lasers: If you need high-speed marking on various surfaces, then these lasers are quite suitable for such purposes. Examples: Demac DM-C55, Markjet 310-C600, Videojet 3340, and Markjet 310-C300.

Ultraviolet lasers: Such equipment is best suited if you need to apply thin symbols on medications and other products, as well as food and dietary supplements. Here are examples: Demac DM-U05, Markjet 510-U005/003/015/010, Demac DM-U10.

Fiber optic lasers: Suitable for non-metallic or non-metallic surfaces. In some cases they can also be used for applying information on partially metallic surfaces. Examples: Demac DM-F30 and Demac DM-F50.

  • Ink markers:

Inkjet markers: Ink is used here. They are used for applying codes and texts to products, individual packaging and various other surfaces.

Thermal transfer markers: Transfer ink to the surface using a heated print head.

  • Thermal transfer printers:

Direct Thermal Transfer: Transfer of ink using a heated print head.

Reverse thermal transfer:Ink is transferred from the tape to the plane.

  • Electronic markers:

Injection printers: Apply text and images for various types of packaging.

Thermionic printers: Mark packaging and labels.

Areas of use of markers

Food production: This is the process of labeling food products with expiration dates, ingredients and barcodes.

Pharmaceutics: Placing information on drug packaging.

Electronics: Marking of cables, boards and components.

Automotive industry: Identification of parts and spare parts.

Tobacco and alcohol products: Ensuring security and authenticity control.

Marking equipment provides clear and reliable marking, which is important for the quality and safety of office work. Marks and special notes applied during the process will prevent any work from causing chaos.
